We are seeking a permanent Lecturer to deliver our Te Pōkaitahi Reo suite of programmes from Level 1 – 6. 

In semester 2, 2025, commencing in July we seek a Lecturer to deliver an online level 2, 6-month cohort of Te Pōkaitahi Reo programme for a national stakeholder based in Auckland.  The position can be located at our Tāmaki Campus (Manukau – Auckland) site, our Whakatāne campus site, or for the right person we may negotiate position location. 

As a Lecturer - Te Pōkaitahi Reo you will join a large team of existing experience Lecturers whose primary responsibility is to recruit students, to plan and deliver quality lectures and assessments, to support learning through face to face or online delivery, to monitor the papers and mentor students. 

As the position is part of our academic staff, you will be responsible for contributing to the successful delivery of the papers that are taught within your curriculum area. 

 

Our successful applicants will have:   

  • A minimum qualification at bachelor level in the field of Te Reo Māori is required to teach all levels of our Te Pōkaitahi Reo suite of programmes (L1-L6).   
  • Experience monitoring, assessing, and delivering Te Reo Māori papers and programmes.
  • Experience in online delivery as our Level 1 – 6 programmes have mixed mode delivery for some cohorts, and fully online for other cohorts. 
  • Tertiary teaching experience and a teaching qualification, preferably adult teaching.
  • Te Reo Māori proficiency to at least level 7, and a comprehensive understanding of Tīkanga Māori.  Fluency in Te Reo preferred.
  • A full clean driver’s licence.
