How can you fund your study?
While you are thinking about your study options, you may want to know about the financial support you can get. Here are some ways that you can fund your study.
Studylink
StudyLink is a service of the Ministry of Social Development. It administers student loans and allowances as well as other forms of financial assistance for students. They also have helpful advice on funding your study, as well as tools and calculators. For more information visit their website at www.studylink.govt.nz
Government's Fees Free Scheme
If you’re planning to start tertiary study or training for the first time you may be eligible for fees-free. Visit the government's fees free website for details www.feesfree.govt.nz.
If the fees free website says learners have ‘unknown’ eligibility status, and they meet the eligibility criteria, they will need to complete and submit a statutory declaration as soon as possible so they can receive Fees Free for any Fees Free eligible study or training they undertake.
Webchat is also available for learners on the Fees Free website. Live chat gives learners an easy way to talk to the Customer Contact Group in real time to ask any questions you may have.
We encourage tauira to contact the Tertiary Education Commission for any questions regarding your Fees Free eligibility or entitlement. You can now do this by emailing customerservice@tec.govt.nz, by calling 0800 601 301, or by using the new chat function on the Fees Free website.
