Tūhono Tangata: Share our stories

Our graduates are making significant contributions to their communities and we’re proud of their success and the impact that their education has had on their lives and the lives of the people around them.

We asked a group of Awanuiārangi alumni to spend a day with us to share their stories. The resulting profiles and podcasts provide insight into the role that te reo Māori, tikanga and mātauranga Māori have played within each of their different education and career journeys. From studying on their own marae to completing a doctoral degree; each story is different but every graduate in the group was inspired by the contribution they can make to their whānau, hapū, iwi and wider community.

We hope that these stories will in turn inspire others to think about their journeys and the role that education can play.

Podcast one is here!

Join our host, Junior Tana, as he sits down with Awanuiārangi alumni Dr. Robyn Roa, Tracy Gilmer, and Te Rangihaeata Hare for a compelling kōrero.
