Tāmaki Kapa Haka 2026

Celebrating 50 Years, the Tāmaki Makaurau Senior Kapa Haka Society presents two unforgettable days of powerful performance, fierce competition, and cultural celebration.

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi are proud to be a major sponsor of the 2026 event, including the Whakaata Māori Broadcast.

Hundreds of performers will take the stage before thousands of supporters and kapa haka enthusiasts in this prestigious biennial event. Teams will compete not only for regional pride, but for the coveted opportunity to secure one of six qualifying places for Te Matatini 2027.

With food vendors, market stalls, a tamariki zone, and spaces for kaumātua, there's something for everyone to enjoy while experiencing the passion, excellence, and talent of kapa haka at its finest.
