Join an online information session for our Wai Ora programmes
Build the knowledge and skills to care for and protect our natural environments through the Wai Ora Kaupae 3 (Level 3) and Wai Ora Kaupae 4 (Level 4) programmes. Grounded in mātauranga Māori, these courses focus on the preservation and restoration of wai (water) — including rivers, lakes, streams, and marine environments.
Wai Ora is more than study — it’s about taking responsibility for the future of our waterways. You’ll graduate with the knowledge and confidence to contribute to real environmental outcomes in your community.

Wai Ora (Kaupae 3)
Learn the foundations of water resource management and conservation with the Wai Ora (Kaupae 3) programme. This level 3 certificate will teach you how to protect and manage waterways using both modern science and mātauranga Māori.
Wai Ora (Kaupae 4)
Advance your knowledge and skills to protect and conserve coastal and freshwater bodies with a mātauranga Māori perspective. Be an ‘eco champion’ and kaitiaki.
