PUT101 Kōwai Ako 1: Whanaungatanga - Effective Relationships through Communication

Course Type:  Core

Description:  Tauira will be able to develop effective communication skills and use a range of strategies to establish, maintain and manage relationships and reciprocal responsibilities

 

PUT102 Kōwai Ako 2: Kaitiakitanga - Traditional and Contemporary Kaitiaki Roles

Course Type:  Core

Description:  Tauira will be able to develop strategies to protect and manage the local environment in accordance with mātauranga Māori and mātauranga taiao knowledge. Tauira will demonstrate how resources can be protected, managed, and sustained utilising legislation to support the aspirations of whānau, hapū and iwi.

 

PUT103 Kōwai Ako 3: Pūkengatanga - Traditional and Contemporary Practices and Solutions

Course Type:  Core

Description:  Tauira will be able to apply mātauranga Māori, mātauranga taiao and contemporary theories, management, and practices to provide solutions and processes to local environment concerns and issues. 

 

PUT104 Kōwai Ako 4: Rangatiratanga - Environmental Aspirations and Needs of whānau, hapū and iwi

Course Type:  Core

Description:  Tauira will be able to exercise and examine their own rights regarding current and future environment aspirations and needs of whānau, hapū and iwi. Tauira will also develop a future based environmental framework using both mātauranga Māori and science theories that align with whānau, hapū and iwi aspirations.
