How will I learn in the Bachelor of Environmental Studies?

The Bachelor of Environmental Studies includes directed and self-directed learning

The programme has a mixed mode delivery, blending online teaching and learning with face-to-face noho.  

Study may comprise of wānanga/noho marae, lectures, visiting lecturers and community experts (guest speakers), labs, tutorials, workshops, discussion groups, focus groups, practical learning experiences, technology based, self-directed learning, online, videos/video streaming, teacher directed learning, class presentations, research including mini research projects, seminars, field trips.

There will be four Whakatāne based noho.

• 1st Feb – 4th Feb 2027
• 12th April – 15th May 2027
• 28th June – 1st July 2027
• 30th August – 2nd September 2027
