If you’re interested in environmental issues and sustainability, we offer a range of programmes that address the climate change challenges that the world is facing. Our certificate-level environmental sustainability courses are fees-free for eligible students.

Through these programmes, our tauira are helping to shape the next generation of kaitiaki. Gain an in-depth understanding of environmental problems and learn how to protect our natural world for a sustainable future.

 

Why study environmental science with us?

In our courses, you’ll learn about the close connection between environmental sustainability principles and mātauranga Māori. We’ll help you apply a tikanga lens to solving some of the biggest environmental issues faced by hapū, iwi and indigenous communities around the world.

You’ll combine scientific knowledge with mātauranga Māori and mātauranga taiao, gaining a holistic understanding of environmental systems and the impacts on our communities. Through online study and on-the-ground field trips, you’ll learn how to find solutions to the environmental effects of human activity on natural resources.
