Testimonials

Tū Māia - Oranga Tamariki:

“Learning how much I have been colonised in my thinking - I have a greater awareness of the overarching Eurocentric approach and the impacts e.g., resulting in inequities, disadvantage, systematic racism…”. (Oranga Tamariki Kaimahi, Mataatua Learning Hub, 2023).

“Understanding the world from a Te Ao Māori lens and experiencing how these values are incorporated in everyday living and relationships with people has been profoundly moving for me.” (Oranga Tamariki Kaimahi, Te Whanganui-ā-Tara Learning Hub, 2023)

“Learning more about the Māori worldview and really looking at how dominant the Pākehā culture has been, then applying those learnings and whakaaro to my mahi, and considering how I can do things differently, what I can change, who/how I can influence change, changed attitudes and respect”. (Oranga Tamariki Kaimahi, Tāmaki Makaurau Learning Hub, 2023).

“In comparing my excitement and apprehension for this wananga I loved that I had way more confidence, knew that I'd be tired, knew that I will only get out what I put in, be vulnerable, and the learning will come, and it sure did. I loved that at times I "felt" I needed to say things, and that the "ah ha" moments happened”. (Oranga Tamariki Kaimahi, Te Waipounamu Learning Hub, 2023).

Real Estate Authority:

“Please pass on my appreciation to all the people who were involved in designing the course. Parts of it I found to be confronting and upsetting by learning that Māori’s appear to have been duped by signing a treaty with an English to Māori translation which is clearly misleading by favouring the Europeans. I hope in the years to come the NZ Government will settle all further claims in a prompt and fair manner.”

“I have just attended the above seminar via Zoom. To be honest I was a reluctant participant as I didn’t see the connection or relevance to my work as a Business Broker.
I must say I enjoyed every aspect of the presentation and felt a strong connection to your message.”

“I was a little unsure how this would proceed, but the speakers handled this beautifully, well skilled and conducted in a manner that made the materials enjoyable and understandable to follow. Well done and I look forward to having more of this in the future.”

"As a former tutor in real estate for Unitec I thought all your presenters did a very good job. Plenty of enthusiasm and in-depth knowledge of the topic presented in a balanced manner. Keep up the good work."
