Awanuiārangi signs MOU with Huia Publishers
Awanuiārangi and Huia Publishers sign agreement to promote mātauranga Māori on world stage
In a promising collaboration, Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi and Huia Publishers have announced an agreement to partner on publishing a programme of work that will contribute to academic discourse and mātauranga Māori. This partnership marks a milestone for academic indigenous knowledge, bringing together the expertise of both institutions to support their shared vision and values.
The Memorandum of Understanding solidifies the commitment of both Awanuiārangi and HUIA to strengthen mātauranga Māori and uphold Māori voices in literature and academia.
Chief Executive of Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi, Professor Wiremu Doherty, says: “This partnership with Huia Publishers supports our strategic approach to deliver responsive and innovative education programmes and to promote the legitimacy and durability of indigenous intellect, both locally and internationally.
